The Joyful Heart Foundation was founded in 2004 by Mariska Hargitay who played Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims’ Unit. They are committed to supporting survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse through innovative programs and has reached millions more through public awareness campaigns and in 2010 the organization started the End the Backlog Initiative.
